Altar Guild

The Altar Guild at St. Paul’s is a fun and dedicated group that prepares the sanctuary for the celebration of public worship. This includes Sunday morning services, funerals and weddings as well as special services such as Evensong and Lessons & Carols, Christmas Eve and Day services, and the liturgies of Holy Week and Easter.

Altar Guild members work in pairs to arrange flowers on the altar, set up, wash, and put away the Eucharistic silver, and change the linens and colors on the altar and elsewhere in the church to reflect the seasons of the Church year. New members are trained and work as partners with experienced members. It is rewarding work for many reasons: meeting new people, gaining a deeper understanding of why we do things the way we do at the altar, and joining a long tradition of service.

We welcome new members and are open to both men and women. If you are interested in joining us or would like more information about this ministry, please contact Altar Guild chair Chris MacNally at cmacnally66@hotmail.com
